Glenn Maxwell omitted as Cricket Australia announces central contracts for 2026-27 season

Cricket Australia, today, announced the list of centrally contracted players for the 2026-27 season. They have dropped Glenn Maxwell from the previous list, who has had a lean run at the international level in white-ball cricket. He retired from ODIs in June 2025 and is active only in one format. He hasn't played Tests since 2017 and didn't have a great time in the T20 World Cup as well, where Australia were knocked out in the group stage.

Following Manchester Originals' Sanjiv Goenka's confirmation, the Oval Invincibles, who sold their 49 per cent stake to the Mumbai Indians' owners, the Ambani Family, are set to rebrand themselves as MI London after the new ownership takes effect from October 1, 2025.
