India took lead in first two Tests of a series in Australia for the first time since 1985 when stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane got a boundary through the slip cordon to take the team score to 198/5 from 194/5 during the second day's play in the second Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, on Sunday.
